Absolute Boyfriend

r/shoujo · Are there any shoujos where the ML is a robot?

Absolute Boyfriend (the same as Zettai Kareshi below) is about a girl who accidentally ends up getting an android mail-order boyfriend - it’s a classic lmao

Zettai Kareshi by Yuu Watase, I think might be one you'd be interested in.

r/shoujo · Recommend a tear breaking anime like this

“Hotarubi no Mori e (2011)”still makes me sad and frustrated thinking about it. If you’re open to manga: “Absolute Boyfriend” is >!mostly lighthearted but the ending made me cry!<. I don’t think “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)” has a demographic but it made me sad regardless. Tbh a lot of the sadder romance ones like Clannad itself aren’t shoujo but shounen or seinen like “I want to eat your pancreas” or “Plastic Memories” or “Angel Beats”.

Isn’t Absolute Boyfriend one with a male robot? I haven’t read it in forever though. There is a josei manga called My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon! I will definitely be watching the comments for other recommendations because now I am curious and realize I haven’t read much of any series with a robot male lead!

r/shoujo · I'm looking for a series (anime, manga, LN, every medium is fine) where the love interest is not obvious at all, is introduced later on, or where the main hero/heroine loses

All of these I was a bit unsure who the MC would end up with or if they would: >!Daytime Shooting Star!< >!Paradise Kiss!< >!Peach Girl!< >!Absolute Boyfriend!< >!Chihayafuru!< >!Shortcake Cake!< >!Parfait Tic!< >!Tonari no Atashi!< >!Anagura Amelie!< Non-Shojo: >!Yumi’s Cells!<, >!Senpai is an Otokono!<, >!Dating with a Tail, Blue Flag!<
