r/mangarecommendations · Looking for a manga that's brutally dark and gritty but with an ultimately hopeful message

Blade of the Immortal is pretty dark and gritty. Not all the way through but the way it is and the characters are

r/mangarecommendations · Trying to find another comic/manga

If you've already read *Berserk*, have you read *Claymore*? It's the classic suggestion to *Berserk* fans, but it's a ton of fun, the characters and the worldbuilding are great, and the fights are superb. Also, it's another series where you really see the artistic talent of the mangaka grow as the series goes on. Other classic recs post-*Berserk* are gonna be *Vinland Saga* and *Vagabond*! Also check out *Blade of the Immortal*! I also recommend *Kingdom*, if you like the idea of seinen in ancient China! I'm 2 volumes in, and loving it so far!
