Franken Fran

r/mangarecommendations · I am looking for funky manga recommendations.

Funky as in a bit weird but in a fun way? What about Tomodachi × Monster? It’s a (very violent) Pokémon parody/black comedy. Only three volumes but it’s definitely an experience. Franken Fran is another parody (Frankenstein/Black Jack) and black comedy about the Frankenstein’s monster taking over in the role of doctor. She’s a brilliant surgeon, and tries to be helpful, but her solutions tend to be a bit misguided..

r/manga · Junji Ito? - Opinions or Recommendations?

No, that makes perfect sense! Then let me recommend a few more things that might strike the right balance. In order, from least realistic to most: * GYO, also from Ito   * Franken Fran, a medical horror-comedy   * Manhole, a police mystery horror The last 2 have some brief themes of sexual abuse, if you don't want to read about that.

r/mangarecommendations · Any Absurd Nihilistic Dark Comedies Y'all Recommend?

I think you might find pumpkin night entertaining. It’s a slasher but I’d say it’s more fun than scary with how absurd the deaths are, and how everyone reacts to the situation. Franken Fran is also awesome. It’s like a slice of life body horror. I recommend reading the first few chapters as they are the most iconic… It’s about a surgeon named Fran, who performs horrific body modifications on people for, reasons. In this chapter she saves a car accident victim by turning her into a caterpillar. I swear this is not a poorly disguised fetish. https://preview.redd.it/ibl5j2tpb0lh1.jpeg?width=1
