r/shoujo · Are there any indian or middle Eastern inspired mangas?

Magi: Labyrinth of Magic is loosely based off of 1001 Nights The Heroic Legend of Arslan  RG Veda is based off Hindu folklore, though uses the Japanese names for the gods.

r/shoujo · Are there any indian or middle Eastern inspired mangas?

I know *RG Veda* is based off Vedic Myths. Not shojo, but there’s an old anime called *The Adventure’s of Marco Polo* where he travels across the Middle East.

r/shoujo · Are there shounen like shoujos?

Red River, From Far Away, and plenty of CLAMPs works like Magic Knight Rayearth, RG Veda, and x/1999.

r/shoujo · who's your favorite shoujo mangaka? mine is Mika Yamamori!!!! tell meee yours !!! i need more amazing authors to obsess over!!

What did you think of RG Veda?

r/mangarecommendations · Mangas with this kind of art?

I immediately thought of Adekan and Olimpos. If you like (or tolerate BL) I would also recommend One Thousand and One Nights (yes, a retelling of the folktale) by Jin-seok Jeon. Edit: Anything by CLAMP would also fit the bill (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, xxxHolic (read those two together, they're part of the same coin), RG Veda, X etc.)
