r/shoujo · Older shoujo with yearning and comedy?I’ve been on the hunt for manga with that same flavor you’re describing! I’ve found that Arina Tanemura’s works, and Ai Yazawa’s scratch that itch, although most of these do lack comedy. Some of my favorites with yearning MLs have been: Paradise Kiss, (the yearning is mostly on the FLs side, but it’s there for the ML as well), Neighborhood Story, Phantom Thief Jeanne (Sinbad, the ML, is crazy lunatic for the FL), Nana, Sakura Hime, Full Moon wo Sagashite. Some other manga I’ve read that also scratched that itch were: Maison Ikkoku, Loving Yamada at Lv 999, &, Changes of Heart, Lovely Complex.
