r/shoujo · who's your favorite shoujo mangaka? mine is Mika Yamamori!!!! tell meee yours !!! i need more amazing authors to obsess over!!My favorite mangaka is pro babky Julietta Suzuki. I’ve only read two of her works, Kamisama Kiss and Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, but both hit that balance of super natural romance, comedy, and serious plot so perfectly that I had no choice but to fall in love with them. This is also a bit personal, but I tend to have a soft spot for stories/creators that somehow also leave a positive spot in my life beyond their story. My brother also really loves Otaku Vampire, and we love to call and fangirl/fanboy over it every time a new volume comes out in English. Since they don’t sell it where he’s at,
r/shoujo · any recs for heartwarming, soul soothing, romance with emotional depth + folktale / fantasy elements?Colette decides to die The story is about Colette, the only apothecary in her village, which causes her to be constantly overworked. One day, out of desperation, she jumps into a well and ends up in the underworld, where Hades resides. Hades is sick and overworked too, so Colette helps. And their story together begins. While I haven't really read the manga's you mentioned, (other than Yona) I think this would be something you would enjoy.
r/webtoons · Tell me your favorite webtoon and I’ll tell you how similar our taste isAh!!! It was sooo funny, i was all for the love, but their stories? Sooo worth it, and although there were A LOT of characters, everyone had an opportunity to tell their story!
r/webtoons · Is Cheese in the trap one of the best college romance manhwa?I enjoyed it a lot because of the character relationships and situations each one of them face. They come across as real people living their ordinary lives with life throwing random hurdles at them. Another interesting thing is how their family backgrounds influence their story. You have Seol (the MC) from an average family trying to make extra income here and there to support herself and free herself from her patriarchal family. You have Jung from a rich family and he uses this to his advantage to get certain things done.
