r/manga · Recommendations for hard, desolate, mysterious "ultra-scifi"

I've had this thread open in a tab and only just got to it. My hear-me-out recommendation is <Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou>. I'm a huge Nihei fan and while YKK is VERY different, it feels somehow cut from the same cloth. The worlds in both are mysterious and something has clearly gone very wrong. They both tell a story of the twilight of humanity, one where the coming night is the gentle embrace of oblivion and one where it is the beast-night of old, poised to devour.
