Do review these to make sure they are appropriate because different people can have different ideas. Sailor Moon would be fairly good option that should be appropriate. It does have some LGBT themes if that effects if it's still "appropriate". DN Angel could also work. It's a older shoujo romance that's has recently gotten a deluxe release. Basically a boy turns into phantom their alter ego when he around his crush too much. It has some darker elements but nothing that I can think of as being too inappropriate.
